(This information is presented by Jackstuff.com to give you a general idea of how to refill your cartridge. Always be sure to read the instructions that come with our refill kits before you start.)
COLOR - BC-05 cartridge
1 - Use a marker or sharp object to mark the fill holes M-Y-C (magenta-yellow-cyan) or R-Y-B (red-yellow-blue) so you don't accidentally inject ink into the wrong compartment.
2 - Find the three circles on the side of the cartridge indicated on the instruction sheet. Each of the three rubber plugs has a tiny vent hole. Using the hand drill (included in the kit) enlarge each vent hole. A twist or two should be all that's necessary. Don't worry if you should accidentally push a plug into the cartridge, or pull it out. Since they are vent holes, just leave it open.
3 - Use a separate syringe and needle for each color. After pulling ink into the syringe, insert the needle into one of the vent holes in the appropriate compartment. As you inject the ink, gradually pull the needle out so you can fully saturate the "sponge".
4- When you see ink bubble out the fill hole, pull back on the plunger to draw out 1cc of ink. You want to saturate the sponge without having "loose" ink on top of the sponge. This is an "overfill" situation.
5- If the printhead is wet and sloppy, set the cartridge upright on newspapers to let the excess drain out.
6 - Do NOT tape over the vent holes - they must be left open.
7- If the colors look wrong when you first start to print with a refilled color cartridge, it is overfilled. Don't panic. It is not unusual for one color to leech over into the adjoining compartment at the printhead. When this happens, just print some pages of the offending color. Once the small amount of mixed inks have been used up, your colors will return to normal.

2 - Insert the needle into the enlarged vent hole. When you reach the bottom pull back a bit, then start to slowly inject the ink. As you inject the ink, gradually pull the needle out so you can fully saturate the "sponge".
3 - When you see ink bubble out the vent hole pull back on the plunger to draw out 1-2cc of ink. You want to saturate the sponge without having "loose" ink on top of the sponge. That would cause an "overfill" situation.

1 - It is very important that you hold the cartridge you're refilling at a 45 degree angle. Find the corner near the exit hole and hold that corner on your work surface. Raise the opposite end so that the cartridge is at a 45 degree angle.
2 - Using the hand drill (included in the kit), make a hole in the side of the cartridge near the top, opposite the end that is touching the work surface. Fill the reservoir with ink, but do NOT allow ink to flow into the sponge section. If ink flows into the sponge section, you'll find your cartridge will immediately empty itself thru the exit hole. Fill only the reservoir.
3 - Use black plastic (electrical) tape to cover the hole you made. ("Scotch" tape doesn't adhere well to the plastic.)

1 - Snap the color tank out of the holder (printhead). Remove the cap:

4 - Inject inks into the appropriate compartments. Use caution so that ink does not overflow into adjoining compartments. Pull back on the plunger to remove overfill. Return unused ink in the syringe to the bottle.
5 - Place the cap back on top and use "scotch" or plastic tape to hold it in place.
1 - Using the hand drill (included with the kit), enlarge the vent hole in the top.
2 - Inject ink. If ink bubbles over the top, pull back on the plunger to remove about 1 cc of ink.
3 - Do NOT tape or seal the enlarged hole. It must be left open for proper venting.

Since inkjet ink is rather slippery, and the syringe is a smooth plastic, rinsing a syringe is not really necessary. If you wish, you can pull some clear water into the syringe and push it out a few times to keep it neat.
